About Me

Hello, I'm John. I am a fifth-year Ph.D. student at the Department of Physics of the University of Los Andes in Bogotá-Colombia. My primary research interests are applications of machine learning and deep learning algorithms to solve problems in astrophysics and cosmology. I work with Jaime Forero-Romero in the Astroandes research group and also as member of the Dark Energy Spectroscopic Instrument (DESI) collaboration. Besides, as outreach activities I'm member of the committee of the RECA mentorship program.
